St. Joseph's Music Ministry extends a warm invitation to parishioners of all ages to join one of the several choirs and musical ensembles that are available at our church. Serving as vocalist and/or instrumentalist is an important way to support the assembly's sung prayer and praise to God. It also provides added benefits such as learning new skills, enjoying new friendships and making a valuable contribution to our parish community.

All are welcome!

Contact: Deanna Muro, Director of Music at 631.269.6635 ext. 218 or email dmuro@stjosephskp.org to register or for more information.

The Pipe Organ:

About:

The orginal Organ was built by Estey Organ Company of Brattleboro, Vermont. The Organ, Estey #1885, was built about 1920 for the Swan Estate, a private residence, in Rosyln, New York. It was installed around 1965 when the present church was built. It was a type that was made primarily for residences and especially for playing popular music and orchestral works.

In 1987, a new organ was built by James A. Konzelman of New Jersey. It incorporated valuable pipes from the old organ along with ranks of new pipes constructed by the organ building firm of Laukahuff of Weikershein, West German; the Organ Supply Company of Erie, Pennsylvania; and the Trivo Co. of Hagerstown, Maryland.
